Throwback Photos of South African Celebrities: Black Coffee, Makhadzi, President Ramaphosa and More

On May 28th, The Hype Collector posted a slideshow on Instagram featuring throwback photos of some of South Africa’s most famous celebrities. The post had online users laughing and amazed at the transformation of these stars.

Many South African celebrities were not born into wealth and had to work hard to achieve their current lifestyle. Looking good can be expensive, and it’s not always easy to maintain a glamorous appearance without spending a lot of money.

Celebrities often have a team of staff to help them look their best on TV, in magazines, and in their everyday lives. Some celebrities, such as Sibahle Mpisane, Zodwa Wabantu, Khanyi Mbau, and others, can afford to book themselves for treatments or surgeries to enhance their appearance. For example, DJ Zinhle Jiyane recently surprised fans by posting pictures of her new breasts on social media. Other celebrities rumoured to have undergone cosmetic procedures include actress Connie Ferguson, socialite Faith Nketsi, and luxury influencer Kefilwe Mabote.
