Things A Husband Material Would Never Ask You To Do



I am all about giving everyone the needed respect and never bring anyone down out of spite especially women. In fact, one of the reasons I like to write about relationships is so that other women can benefit from it and share our experiences online. 

That way, we can at least not feel alone in what we experience. We are all in this together and we deserve to be loved in a way that makes us happy. We really don’t need men who are terrible at being good boyfriends while we are trying to be the best versions of ourselves. 

So how can you tell if he is a good boyfriend? There are several ways but coming down to the basics, he shouldn’t ask you to do these things.

CHANGE THE WAY YOU LOOK

Be yourself as a woman and a good boyfriend would love you the way you are. It shouldn’t matter what shape, size or colour you have. It wouldn’t matter if you prefer a certain look or clothes. 

He lets you express yourself the way you want and would never make any silly demands like asking you to change your appearance. Of course, for this to work you need to compromise and be the best version of yourself.


GIVE HIM IMPORTANCE OVER YOUR CAREER AND HEALTH

Unless spending hours with him can bring me a lot of money, I’m not going to do this and a good guy won’t expect you to. A good guy won’t make you cancel important work meetings and expects you to stay up late every night talking to him till you like a manhandled cat the following day. It’s not good for your health and a good boyfriend won’t do anything to risk your health.

CANCEL YOUR PLANS WITH YOUR FRIENDS

A good boyfriend understands that you need to maintain other important connections in your life and wouldn’t want you to cut them off. What’s romantic is him waiting for your selfies when you are out with your friends and teasing you the next day about how you forgot grammar while drunk texting him the previous night. This kind of guy is a keeper.

ANYTHING YOU’RE NOT COMFORTABLE DOING

For instance, if you hate engaging in oral sex and when you refuse, he acts as if you’re snatching away his birthright as a man then he’s no good. Preferably, a great partner would never force you or push you to do things you are not comfortable with.


CHOOSE BETWEEN HIM AND YOUR LOVED ONES

A good boyfriend understands that you hold your loved ones dear and he would never put you in a difficult situation by asking you to choose between him and them. 

This is true love and anything else is just selfish. If you are ever dating a guy who asks you to choose, leave him and choose your sanity instead.
